Ways We Serve
It is both a joy and an honor to serve women through The Daughters of Zion Foundation. Our heart is to reflect the love of Jesus not only in what we say, but in how we show up - loving, giving, encouraging, and walking alongside women with compassion. We believe that when we serve others, we are ultimately serving Christ, and we consider it a privilege to be His hands and feet.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
— Matthew 25:40
Mentorship
While we are willing to disciple every woman we serve, we believe mentorship is a little different. Mentorship offers a more structured, hands-on approach for women who desire additional guidance, accountability, and support. Think of discipleship as doing life and mentorship as more of the classroom (this is just how we view it). We would love to do life with you regardless! But we also understand that some of our sisters really need “the classroom” aspect.
If you would benefit from regular meetings, designated lesson plans, homework, intentional conversations, and someone walking more closely alongside you during a particular season, mentorship may be right for you.
Because mentorship requires a significant investment of time, patience, prayer, preparation, and intentional care, we can only accept a limited number of women at a time. Opportunities are offered on a first-come, first-served basis as spaces become available. If mentorship is full, we can still pray for you, check on you, disciple you, and offer Godly advice as the Holy Spirit allows. You may simply need to wait for an opening before we can provide the structured lessons and homework designed for you.
We offer both group and one-on-one mentorship. Group mentorship allows women to grow, learn, build community, and encourage one another. One-on-one mentorship provides more individualized support focused on your specific needs, areas of growth, and season of life.
Mentorship is truly a labor of love. Our desire is to intentionally pour into each woman with biblical truth, encouragement, accountability, and genuine care as she continues growing in her relationship with Christ.
Bibles & Biblical Resources
We believe that the Word of God should be accessible to everyone. Every woman should have the opportunity to open the Scriptures for herself, learn who God is, discover what He has spoken, and grow in an intimate relationship with Him.
At The Daughters of Zion Foundation, we are passionate about helping God’s daughters draw near to Him and become rooted in His Word. We never want the lack of a Bible to be what stands between a woman and the opportunity to read God’s Word for herself. If you do not own a Bible, we would be humbly honored to provide one for you at no cost even if it needs to be shipped t you. We will cover the cost.
Our support does not have to end once your Bible arrives. Sometimes receiving a Bible is the beginning. Infact it was my beginning. You may open it and wonder where to start, how to study it, or how to understand and apply what you are reading. If you feel that you need additional support along the way, we would love to walk with you.
As resources are available, we can provide additional biblical materials to help you grow in your understanding of Scripture and your walk with the Lord. Whether you are opening a Bible for the very first time or simply desire additional resources to help you go deeper, our desire is to make sure you have access to the tools and support you need to continue growing.
Our desire is not simply to place a Bible in your hands, but to encourage you to open it, read it, know the God who inspired it, and allow His Word to become a lasting part of your everyday life.
Practical Assistance
One of the many things we appreciate about our Heavenly Father is that although He is miraculous, omniscient, omnipresent, and all-powerful, He also knows how to meet us where we are. He knows how to be practical with us, even while He is seated on His high and Holy throne.
He chooses to do this because He has given us, mankind, dominion over the earth. Rather than disregarding the realities of our world, He chooses to meet us within them. He cares not only about the spiritual needs of His people, but about the practical needs we encounter in everyday life.
This is one of the reasons we could not leave practical assistance out of the work we do. We believe that loving and serving women means being willing to meet them where they are and, when possible, helping with the tangible needs in front of them.
Our practical assistance is designed to help women with the everyday needs that can become overwhelming during difficult seasons. Depending on the individual need and the resources available to us, assistance may include clothing and shoes, feminine and personal-care products, food and essential household items, transportation assistance.
We understand that sometimes what a woman needs in that moment is very simple: groceries in her refrigerator, gas to get to work, toiletries or clothing for an interview. These needs may seem ordinary, but meeting them can make a meaningful difference in someone's life. As the Lord provides resources to us, it is our joy to use those resources to help meet the practical needs of the women He places before us.
Inner Healing & Deliverance
We firmly believe what Scripture says about healing and deliverance. Mark 16:17–18 says,
“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
Jesus has given us the power and authority to live in freedom through His finished work on the cross. And He has not come only to heal us outwardly, but inwardly as well. We freely take women from all walks of life through inner healing and deliverance as the Spirit leads. This is not done by our own might, by how well we pray, or through performance. The power of the Holy Spirit is enough. We simply come fully surrendered, and our freedom comes from Him! We are blessed to witness it. These sessions are typically done via Zoom. If you have more questions about inner healing and deliverance, please email us at info@dozfoundation.com
“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” - Isaiah 61:1
Financial Assistance
We live in a world where things obviously cost money, and DOZ understands this as a nonprofit. Lights need to be kept on, staff needs to be compensated, rent needs to be paid, and so on. And although our Mighty God is above physical money—because the earth is His and everything in it—He still meets us in our world by providing for our every need.
The Lord has graciously provided for The Daughters of Zion Foundation, and we want to share everything we have, including our finances. We do not look at the donations we are blessed with as ours. They belong to the Lord! And we want to honor Him with them.
So, whether you need help moving into your first place, stopping an eviction, keeping your lights on, or meeting another financial need, if we can assist, we will because ultimately it is all for Him, by Him and done through Him and for His Glory!
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
-Philippians 4:19
Resource Navigation & Connections
Although we would love to meet every need, it is actually a good thing that we cannot. It reminds us, as an organization and as individuals, that we are not God, we are not in control, and this is bigger than us.
If we are ever unable to meet a need, we do have an extensive network of resources that we can help you navigate to connect you with the right person or organization. We understand that sometimes this can feel discouraging or even like a closed door. But it just might be another door being held open. So don’t give up if your solution does not lie here. Just because we don’t have it does not mean no one else does. Keep seeking!
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” -Matthew 7:
So whether it’s shelter, financial assistance, practical assistance, or even trying to find a church home, we would love to help point you in the right direction.
Support for Women in Crisis
The Daughters of Zion Foundation believes that no woman should have to walk through a crisis alone. We were created for community—to walk alongside one another, to carry one another’s burdens, and to extend love, compassion, and practical support through both the good seasons of life and the difficult ones.
When life becomes overwhelming, sometimes simply knowing that someone is willing to stand beside you can make a difference. Whether you are facing an unexpected hardship, a difficult transition, financial challenges, homelessness, or another crisis, our desire is to remind you that you do not have to navigate it by yourself. We believe there is strength in coming together, helping one another, and using what we have to support those who may need an extra hand in a difficult season.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 says:
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
This Scripture beautifully reflects the heart behind community. There is strength when we stand together. At The Daughters of Zion Foundation, we desire to be a place where women can reach out during difficult seasons and know that there are people willing to listen, pray, help where we can, and walk alongside them as they take their next steps forward.
Conferences, Events & Community
At The Daughters of Zion Foundation, we believe there is something special about women coming together in fellowship, worship, encouragement, and community. No matter what season of life a woman may be walking through, we want her to have the opportunity to enter a room filled with sisters in Christ and know that there is a place for her there.
Throughout the year, we host conferences, gatherings, and special events designed to create opportunities for women to connect, grow in their relationship with the Lord, build genuine relationships with one another, and simply enjoy being in community.
We also never want finances to be the reason a woman cannot attend. That is why our events are offered through Name Your Price tickets. You simply pay what you are able to pay. Whether that is the full suggested ticket price, a smaller amount, or nothing at all, we want you in the room.
Any proceeds received through ticket purchases go directly toward helping us continue putting on future conferences and events, allowing us to keep creating spaces where women can gather, fellowship, worship, be encouraged, and experience the beauty of biblical community.
There should always be room for one more sister at the table
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” - Acts 2:46-47
